course administration

Prisca Elsener

In 2014 I had the opportunity to do an internship at fairtrain - für dog and human and since 2015 I have been working as deputy manager and co-trainer.

Due to the fact that so many people and dogs are looking for advice and guidance at fairtrain - for dog and human, I had and still have the opportunity to gain rich experience in successful work with different human-dog teams and to live out my fascination for dogs. On the one hand I teach dogs from puppies to senior dogs and on the other hand I offer courses in agility, nadac, lunging and all-in-one. I apply my expertise especially in the field of behavioral therapy, individual coaching and seminars.

With my three own dogs I am enthusiastically active in agilty and mantrailing.

At the moment I am studying nutrition and dietetics parallel to my work at the dog school.

Since 2018 I have been working at frairtrain - for dog and human.
In my work as a dog trainer I benefit from the fact that as a veterinary practice assistant I am able to recognize the connections and backgrounds between health and psychological well-being and behavior.

In addition to the regular courses (puppy training, young dogs and occupation) I teach mantrailing and work as Tellington TTouch® Practioner1. I apply my expertise especially in the field of behavior therapy, in individual coaching and in seminars.

With my own dogs I work in mantrailing and I am always looking for challenges in the field of occupation and nose work.

I've been an avid dog lover since I was a child.

At the beginning of 2018, I adopted my first dog from the animal shelter - knowing full well that he had a big problem with aggressive behavior towards other dogs. "I just need to find a good dog trainer" - I thought to myself at the time. Easier said than done - and so began our journey from trainer to trainer until we finally ended up with Mumi and fairtrain.

From the very first private lesson, we started to make progress. I was soon asked if I would like to train as a dog trainer.

So I started my internship in December 2019 and finally successfully completed my training as a dog trainer in December 2020.

Since then, I have enjoyed being able to pass on my specialist knowledge. To accompany, challenge and encourage the many dog-human teams step by step in training - be it in training courses, all-in-one, agility, HuKi, mantrailing or individual coaching.

Thanks to our first dog Djali, I discovered fairtrain as a customer.
I was immediately impressed by the great atmosphere in the group course, the progressive training methods and the enthusiasm of the trainers.

As luck would have it (fortunately), Mumi needed support in the office at the time and I was looking for a new professional challenge at the same time - and poof - since the end of 2021 I have been Head of Administration and Assistant to the Management of fairtrain.
During my first few weeks as an office fairy, I realized that I didn't just want to support fairtrain in administrative matters, but also as a dog trainer.

And so I started studying to become a dog trainer at the ATN (Academy for Applied Animal Psychology and Animal Behavior Training).
During these two years, I was able to accompany the entire fairtrain team and look over their shoulders. I quickly discovered my passion for dog sports, especially agility and Nadac.
I have been teaching these two great exercise courses since 2023 and am always fascinated by how great progress can be achieved through positive reinforcement.

With my now two dogs (two shepherd mixes) we mainly train in the area of tricks and activity.
With our youngest addition to the family, we are of course building up our agility training.

In summer 2021, I decided to enrol on a dog trainer course.
Originally with the idea of working with shelter dogs in the future.
In spring 2022, I started my internship with fairtrain.

I was able to 'look over the shoulder' of all the trainers and was accompanied by Prisca and Mumi in pleasantly small steps to find the confidence to train teams.
I quickly realized that I didn't 'just' want to work with dogs, but that I really wanted to work with human-dog teams.

Thanks to various wonderful dog-human teams that I accompanied during my internship (or who accompanied me), I extended my internship after passing my dog trainer exam in December 2022 with the aim of working as a dog trainer at fairtrain.

Since you can read 'about me' here, it means that I am now part of this great team. :) :)
Since March 2023 I have been offering puppy and young dog courses as well as my own all-in-one courses.?

My passion is everything to do with nose work. Over the last few months, I have continued my training and expanded my offer to include courses on nose work and mantrail.

Not only I, but also my dog Loona, benefit from all the training and experience I have gained in recent years.
I am excited to see where this great journey will take me.

I decided to train as a dog trainer with the ATN in order to be optimally prepared for having my own dog.

During my training, I realized that I really enjoy working with dog and human teams and would like to develop further in this area.
I therefore started looking for a dog training school to gain more experience and came across fairtrain.

From June 2023, I was allowed to complete an internship in which I was gradually introduced to teaching in groups and was able to gain a lot of practical experience.

I have now been part of the fairtrain team since March 2024.

In addition to the regular courses, I particularly enjoy lunging dogs, as this is a versatile activity that is suitable for all dogs and strengthens the bond between the human-dog team.

I am currently training as a canine physiotherapist and canine osteopath.

It is important to me to constantly improve in my work and to develop myself further with various further training courses and practical experience and to constantly expand my level of knowledge.
